Malexah was born to a family who cherished the Arts, her grandfather was a famous artist and photographer in Ecuador, her dad a life long musician and her grandmother a recognized poet for 50 years, having written more than 12 books.
Malexah’s Latin roots have given her the ability to be a dancer ever since she was a child; she grew up dancing the most common Latin dances such as Salsa & Merengue.
In 2004, at a dance class, Malexah saw her first bellydance show performed by a well-known and talented dancer in CT called Careesah, who later became her first teacher.
Due to the beauty and symbolism she was amazed and captivated for life, leading her to grow as a dancer by attending Dance Workshops, Seminars & Classes not only in Connecticut but around & outside the USA, having the opportunity to experience a mixture of dance styles.
With 4 years of training experience, Malexah began to perform and teach in March of 2007. As a teacher and also a dance student, she believes that all dancers should be eternal students, because we never stop learning, there is always something new to learn and experience (just like in the every day life), to challenge ourselves, expand abilities, knowledge and allow improvement in our dance; the training never ends.
Her goal is to help women discover the hidden sexiness, beauty and delicacy that every woman has, caring for the wellbeing and fitness of her students, while introducing the beautiful ART of dance so it can be respected, appreciated and loved for what it is.....
Malexah has performed at theaters, restaurants, festivals, private parties, street performances, charity events and regularly performs around Connecticut with her DANCE Group SHAMs SAGEER.
She has taught at several gyms, dance studios, schools and wellness centers, teaching belly dance as a TRUE FINE ART but also for FITNESS.
Malexahs biggest reward is to share this joy with as many people as possible, helping others discover how easy is to be a dancer with dedication and persistence, unleashing the passion but most of all, the creativity we all have, seeing the satisfaction and smiles of the students after they leave the class.
In 2008, she graduated with a AA
(Associate of Arts) in Theatre from NVCC.
She is currently pursuing a Nutritional Sciences Bachelor's Degree at UCONN,
a DANCE Associate's Degree at NVCC and a Kids YOGA Teacher Certification at the Institute of Yoga Education.
Malexah discovered the interest for Yoga in her teenage years, but it wasn’t until her first yoga experience in 2006, at an Acting/Theater class, where she was truly drawn by the mental/ physical benefits, uniqueness, and beauty of Yoga.
She found it relaxing and challenging, being the only exercise that she enjoyed more than others, and since that day she has been practicing and studying the art of YOGA by personal dedication, practice, workshops,
classes and trainings.
