You probably think you're doing everything you can to stay healthy: lots of sleep, exercise and  avoiding fried foods. But you're forgetting one important thing - To Relax!

Stress has a bigger impact on your health than you might realize.


When stress gets too much it turns into distress, it begins having an affect on us physically, mentally, and emotionally, it deteriorates our physical and mental condition.

Stress makes our immune systems less effective, not fighting against infections, Not only does it hamper our body's ability to fight infection and heal wounds, but can bring us very harmful problems, specially to our brains.

 

Recognize Signs of Stress

  • Inability to sleep or sleeping too much
  • Feeling of doing too many things at once and worring of how to get them done
  • Fatigue
  • Poor or non-existent time management skills
  • Missing classes & appointments
  • Feeling isolated. No time for friends
  • Poor eating habits. Weight gain or loss
  • Neglecting exercise or your favorite activity (the ones you used to enjoy)
  • Excessive involvement in extracurricular activities, school or job/work.
  • Feelings of apathy, depression, anxiety, or panic attacks.

~Get enough sleep. A good night's rest can do wonders for your state of mind.

~Think positive thoughts

~Eat well. Your body needs to be nourished by real food—fruits, vegetables, protein, good carb.


~Exercise. It helps you burn off your stress by relieving tension in your muscles. Endorphins is the reason some people run to reduce stress. Not only does the physical activity of running decrease the tension in your muscles, it also releases these endorphins which can cause feelings of joy and happiness.


 

~Break projects into small steps. Focus on one manageable step at a time, rather than taking on everything at once.


~Take a Vacation.

 

~Create a balanced schedule. Plan regular breaks. Make sure to take short breaks throughout the day to sit back and clear your mind.


~Don't take ON more than you can handle, BE REALISTIC.

 

~Don't be a perfectionist.

Most of the INFO on this page is from the Internet & books. The reason why I created this page is to help people that have been though severe STRESS, like I have, due to College, Work, or any other big stressor. Also, to inform others that stress is very harmful and how to prevent it. As for my own experience, I never knew that it could have such a big impact on peoples lives, I find that knowing more about stress and its effects has helped me immensely, I Thank to God for many great things I have, but specially for learning how to live a stress- free life.
